Jetstar is a value based carrier network providing all day every day low fares with an open approach to air travel.

Jetstar’s mission is to enable more people to fly more often and also to extend air travel to those who have previously never been able to afford to fly by offering customers low fares, all day, every day.

The Jetstar Group includes wholly owned Qantas subsidiaries operating from Australia and New Zealand, Express Ground Handling and partner carriers including Jetstar Asia and Valuair in Singapore and Jetstar Pacific in Vietnam.

Jetstar Asia / Valuair is 51 per cent held by Westbrook Investments Pte Ltd (Westbrook) and 49 per cent by Qantas. Jetstar Pacific in Vietnam is 27 per cent held by Qantas with other shareholders including its largest shareholder, State Capital Investment Corporation, Saigon Tourist Holding Company.

Collectively the Jetstar Group of airlines operate over 1900 weekly flights to 15 countries, serving in excess of 50 markets across the Asia and Asia Pacific region.

Jetstar Group airlines employ directly 7,000 staff across the Asia Pacific region.

The existing CEO is Mr Bruce Buchanan who is a founding executive of Jetstar.

About Jetstar Pacific in Vietnam :

Jetstar Pacific is Vietnam’s first value based carrier.  The carrier transitioned from Pacific Airlines to Jetstar Pacific in May 2008.  Jetstar Pacific is held 27 per cent by the Qantas Group and the remainder held by Vietnamese investors including the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) as the largest shareholder, Saigon Tourist Holding Company.

Jetstar Pacific operates an existing six aircraft fleet including 5 Boeing 737s and 2 Airbus A320 to seven destinations across Vietnam.

The commencement of operations as Jetstar Pacific followed an initial 18 per cent investment in the airline by the Qantas Group in 2007 and the establishment of a Business Services Agreement and Branding Agreement between Pacific Airlines and Jetstar Airways.

The Qantas Group’s plans to further increase its investment to a maximum 30 per cent holding in 2010.

Jetstar Pacific’s existing Vietnamese domestic network includes Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, Vinh, Hai Phong and Nha Trang.
