The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year.

The pagoda itself is built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat and foot, as there are no roads into this area. You will glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths visiting the pagodas and temples that were built in this area over the last centuries.

ITINERARY:

AM : Departure at 7h00 .The bus to pick you up at hotel and take 2 hours road trip .Then you take row-boattrip to go visit that land on the Yen stream ‘romantic time’ about 1 hour to Thien Tru harbour .Then you will enjoy time to trekking go up and down visit the main cave so nice , step by step you will arrive Huong Tich cave on the top of the mountain .To see Golden – Silver tree, rice stuck….One hour down . Have lunch at bottom mountain in restaurant beside.

PM : After lunchtime, you will see the Heaven Kitchen pagoda and to know about Buddhism ancient architectural at Le Dynasty. Then you will come back by rowing -boat trip and 2 hour road trip to Hanoi. Arrive at about 18h00 .

Perfume Pagoda (Vietnamese : Chùa Hương)

Around 60 kilometers southwest of Hà Nội, Perfume Pagoda is one among the largest and unique religious sites in Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, old Ha Tay (or enlarged Hanoi), right banks of Day River, northern Việt Nam.

It comprises a complex of pagodas and Buddhist shrines built into the limestone cliffs of Perfume Mount (Hương Sơn), scattering alongside the mountain up to the peak. The complex’s center is right inside Huong Tich cavern (or in other words, Inside Pagoda).

Huge numbers of pilgrims flock to the site during Perfume Pagoda festival, which begins in the middle of the first lunar month and lasts until the middle of the third one (or from February till March) in order to pray for happiness and prosperity in the coming year. Also, it is a very popular opportunity for young couples to meet and for numerous budding romances to be formed. On this special occasion, a wide range of traditional cultural activities is incorporated. Perfume pagoda is not only a religious site, but a great sight-seeing spot in Vietnam as well.

Perfume Pagoda Festival

The Perfume Pagoda Festival, Vietnam is held from the 6th day of the first month to the end of the third month according to the lunar calendar. The main Pefume Pagoda festival is held between the 15th to the 20th day of the second month. On the 6th day of the first month the people sail the royal barge. One of the major festivals in Vietnam, it is held in three places, Huong Tich, Tuyet Son and Long Van. Perfume Pagoda Festival takes place in three months, starting from January to March every year. More than a million visitors from all over Vietnam attend Chua Huong or Perfume Pagoda Festival every year.

Perfume Pagoda Festival is organized in Perfume Pagoda in Ha Tay, Hanoi now. Perfume Pagoda is about 70 km from center of Hanoi in Vietnam. Right after Tet festival in Vietnam, Chua Huong or Perfume Pagoda Festival is started. As Perfume pagoda is the biggest complex of pagodas in Vietnam therefore Chua Huong or Perfume Pagoda Festival is organised in large scales. Visitors to Chua Huong or Perfume Pagoda Festival have to take the boat in Yen stream to Ben Tro where visitors start walking up to Thien Tru pagoda. In Chua Huong or Perfume Pagoda Festival, visiting and praying in Huong Tich Cave in Perfume pagoda is the most important activity that any visitor has to do. In the Huong Tich Cave, people praying to have a son, a daughter by touching the mountain of the son or daughter in Huong Tich Cave in perfume Pagoda. People also pray for prosperity and wealthy in Huong Tich cave by touching gold tree or silver tree.
